Hey from Houston! Well, not really because I scheduled this post ahead of time, but I'm in H-Town right now for work. Last minute work trip always equals tons of fun.
Leave it to the most laid back days (or so I thought) to turn out to be one of the most hectic. Crazy how that works.
With the week that it's been already - and we're only half way there - I'm definitely ready for a chill weekend with the hubs. I'm thinking more of a lazy/casual Valentine's Day will be the way to go this year. If I decide to do anything exciting I still feel like a casual outfit is my best bet.
This one is something I would wear not only for a date night, but also during the day. You could change it from funky cool during the day with a pair of classic converse to edgy and sassy at night with a pair of pumps or strappy heels.
I'm completely down for the converse look, but this short girl can't handle convies with a hi/lo dress. I need some sort of height to break it up, hence the wedge booties in today's look.
For me, I love the layers upon layers (what's new?!) and the fun mix of girly (necklace and wedges) with the grunge/street style (buffalo dress and a knotted, loose tank). I understand that not everyone is comfortable with layering and mixing elements - I've also worn this dress more simplified with a pair of black tights and a black faux leather jacket. Simple and chic.
It's good to stay in your comfort zone but it's also fun to step out of it. Try something new... surprise your date with a look he's never seen before!
Hope y'all have a great day. Thanks so much for reading!
