Even though I had Thursday and Friday off of work somehow the weekend still flew by. I had plans to get so much organized and accomplished.
I'm usually pretty good with my time but I may have bitten off more than I can chew. I never say that. I guess admitting it is the first step.
That won't keep me down though. If there's a will there's a way and well, I'm here to get shit done.
I did spend a lot of time with family this weekend and that's the most important thing. Thursday Chris was also off of work so he decided early on that he wanted to go fishing that day. Yay, fishing!
I wasn't too excited about it to be completely honest but it turned out to be a great day. We spent quality time together doing what he loves and it... if I must say... was fun. We caught a ton of fish, it was great! Oh, and I caught the biggest one of the day. Chris still won't admit it but we both know the truth.
Since we did what Chris wanted on Thursday we got to do what I wanted on Friday. What do most girls love doing? Shopping, of course! We didn't spend the whole day shopping, he can't hang - but we did purchase new sofas and I can't wait for them to come in. I'll have to finally share some pictures of the house when we get it arranged.
Can we talk about a fail though? I ended up dropping Chris off at home (like I said, he can't hang) and continued on my journey. I was on the hunt for lamps for our bedroom, an oversized mirror and possibly curtains. I can usually find all of those things at Home Goods but I walked out empty handed.
There's nothing more sad than wanting to spend money and not. I mean... for real?
Anyway, that's not the fail. Since I didn't find anything at Home Goods I decided to stop by World Market. I can never leave that store without buying something. And leaving empty handed I did not. I got a rug for our bathroom (please note: not on the list above) as well as curtains and rod for our bedroom. I was so excited!
Well, I was frustrated that the curtain rod I actually wanted was a longer version - somewhere between 54-80" or something like that. What I thought I needed was the 29-48" curtain rod. Even though it's not the one I really wanted I decided it would work. Purchased, on my way home, everything was great.
If you know me, there are a thousand things running through my mind at any given moment. So, I'm jamming out in the car - trying to keep up with Adele's hello when I scream out "oh shit".
Yep, typical.
Well - I guess I really do need Chris with me while I'm shopping to second guess all my decisions. The damn curtain rod that I bought settled for was the wrong dang length. I actually did need to 54-80" rod. What the hell was I thinking?! Who knows... I was probably looking at curtains, thinking about rugs and how our new sofa would look all while trying to pick out a curtain rod.
What I think I was thinking is about the guest bedroom window, not ours. That window already has a curtain rod and curtains. You know... I have my moments.
So, the curtains (only one of them) is currently stuffed behind the blinds to stay hanging so that I could decide if I like it or not. Even interior designers don't have their stuff together. #winginit
That's only one journey from this weekend. Sunday I went shopping with my sister to help spend her money. Now that's more fun! Ten minutes in and we were already bent over laughing so hard we were crying. More on that later.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. And please tell me your life is like this also?
