Transitioning to Spring
Monday, March 7, 2016
Another weekend of absolutely gorgeous weather in Dallas which means, transitioning the Fall and Winter clothes to Spring. Yay!
I can't really even say transitioning from Winter clothes because we didn't have one. And I'm not mad about it.
I went shopping with my best friend a couple of weeks ago and snagged these cute teal flats on clearance at DSW. I usually don't wear a ton of flats, outside of traveling for work, but the color of these caught my eye. They're actually pretty comfortable too - my man Steve Madden definitely did not disappoint!
Anyway, that takes me to my next point. Transitioning your looks from the colder weather to the warmer, Spring weather. For me, this is as simple as taking a new item (in my case the colorful flats) and pairing it with more subtle/basic pieces.
The jeans and the top could easily be worn with booties and an over-sized cardigan or added layers for the colder weather as well.
Transitioning to Spring does not mean that you need an entirely new wardrobe. Now, if you wanna get one... it's the perfect excuse, just not necessary.
I think also pairing jeans with a lighter colored top, hence the white button down helps with moving toward the warmer months. If I was wearing a black top with this outfit it would give it a much heavier and serious vibe. That's not Spring-like at all. You feel me?
I'm sure you know how to transition to the next season but for those of you who struggle with this, it's just a few tips to lead you along. I'm just trying to help a sista out. I mean, isn't that what this blog is for?
Also, I pulled out my favorite lipstick from last year. Any guesses? Chanel is back again! I love, love the color. It's perfect for Spring.
Time to move the sweaters to the back of the closet. Have you started yet? How do you plan to transition into warmer outfits?

This is my kind of easy, casual weekend look! Love the ripped denim with the button-down!

Deletelove your blog! so glad i found it. what a cute look. def have those pieces in my closet. I completely pack up fall/winter and unpack spring each year. sometimes helps me shop less because i haven't seen stuff in 6 months.

Thank you, so sweet! That's a good idea. I usually just move my stuff to the back, but maybe if I pack it up I'll feel like I have "new" pieces again when the season rolls back around.
DeleteSuch a cute, classic look! Love the color of those flats- super cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining this week's Good HUES-Day link party- hope to see you back next week :)

Absolutely love your blouse, I'm thinking of getting a similar one for the southern hemisphere winter! Your flats are fabulous too, great buy!
